The 2026/27 Chelsea home kit is designed to commemorate the “Italian Renaissance” that took place in West London in the 1990s.
In the 1990s, Chelsea was mired in mediocrity, stagnating in the Premier League. At this time, the club decided to appoint Ruud Gullit, then a player, as manager. He set his sights on his former club, Serie A, recruiting several players and stars from Serie A to join the Premier League. This decision completely changed Chelsea’s fate.
The addition of Italian players such as Roberto Di Matteo, Gianluca Vialli, Gianfranco Zola, as well as stars Marcel Desailly and Didier Deschamps, ushered in an era where teams could not only compete with top teams but also win trophies.
